The following photos are from Denise J. Murphy’s new choreographic work “Vanishing Souls | Falling Ashes”. Denise, an MFA in choreography student at UNC-Greensboro, developed a keen interest in the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire while an undergraduate at NYU. This work, which premiered on the rooftop of the Kress Building in Greensboro, NC, explore the history of the fire, our reasons for remembering the past, and its connection to the present.
