Here, Father Demo states that on Wednesday at 10am there would be a memorial funeral with the Office of (a prayer for) the Dead. He describes the Mass as a “public” event, in contrast to the more intimate earlier ceremony with the victims’ families. This, plus the invitations to city and Church officials, and the guest homilist, Father Coppo of the Church of the Transfiguration, indicates that Father Demo was reaching beyond the Italian immigrant community.
