This week students and visitors to the Library of the High School of Economics & Finance in NYC are making 146 patches to wear on 3/25/11 in memory of the Triangle Fire victims. The triangular black felt patches are decorated with black mesh, white voile (used in the shirtwaists fashionable one hundred years ago), with a little lace and ribbons of flaming red or orange. Each patch is different, like the girls, women and men who died that day. We remember this tragedy and the strong unions and workplace laws that it inspired.
