A young lady named Esther worked at The Triangle. She was to married the following Saturday. This song is a lament to the hopeful dreams Esther carried with her to the ledge. The owners of the shop had been sweatshop workers themselves. As a native NYer and son of an NYU history professor I lived on 14 Washington Pl diagonally across from a plaque that talks about martyrdom. These ladies were victims…end of story. So glad the memorial is being changed.
