Object # 1712

My grandfather Arnold Levien was a young immigrant engineer at the time of the Triangle fire. He had just developed a new kind of fire escape called the roll bar fire escape, and when the city mandated fire escapes after the fire, his was considered the best and I believe sold the most widely. The estate of Arnold Levien still exists, and indirectly the beneficiaries still receive income from his achievement.
