This is Minnie and Sarah. My great-grandmother Sarah was the mother of Rosie and Katie Weiner, and also of Minnie, their sister and my grandmother. [Rosie Weiner perished in the fire, while Katie Weiner was one of the last to escape.] Whenever Minnie is photographed, she is wearing this bracelet, which I found by chance when my mother died, tucked into the drawer. It could have been thrown out; my mother didn’t think much of it, but it means so much to me.
