This is the rejection of an application for construction on the Brown (Asch) Building filed in May, 1960, sent from the Department of Buildings to the architect. We were particularly interested in the third item on the list, which reads, “An additional continuous line of stairs must be provided”. The basis for the rejection of the application is found mainly in technical details such as the thickness of the walls and the type of material used in laying roofing.
