Founded in 2000, Domestic Workers United is an organization of Caribbean, Latina and African nannies, housekeepers, and elderly caregivers in New York, organizing for power, respect, fair labor standards and to help build a movement to end exploitation and oppression for all. Domestic workers were left out of the labor reforms that emerged after the Triangle fire, and were omitted from the 1935 Wagner Act. This book is a resource for domestic workers to know their own rights. We have a dream that one day, all work will be valued equally.
